The aim of our service is to help relieve the boredom and isolation a period in hospital can cause. Hearing a favourite piece of music, having a chat with one of our ward visitors and laughing along with our presenters provides a pleasant distraction; relieving sickness and infirmity and helping create a sense of well-being. We also assist the community offering our PA services for a reasonable donation, you will find further details on our Fundraising page.
There are over 11,500 volunteers currently working in over 200 hospital radio stations nationally. Collectively we help over 18 million patients in Hospitals throughout the country by providing this totally unique but essential service. To find out more about the way hospital radio benefits patients, take a look at the impact study organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA).
